I am seeing something odd with the email subscription form on the home page of our subscription-based website (under development).
I forgot that I was logged into our website as a paid member, and I opened a new browser window and went to our home page, where we have an email subscription form for people who want to receive a free newsletter.
In the form, I saw that my user's full name and email address were pre-filled in the form - and the "GO" button is labeled "SUBSCRIBE". I think the problem with the button label is just that an override is getting ignored, and we're seeing the default label.
We definitely don't want this to happen.
I was able to backspace-out the name, but if I tried to delete or backspace over the email address, it opened a browser window (the default blank browser page).
We checked this problem out on Firefox (on 2 computers) and Chrome, and it occurs on all versions we tried.
Any ideas on the cause of this pre-filling and how to stop it?
Helps and hints appreciated! 😃
