Agree to receive newsletters checkbox

Hello again,

I have created a custom field with a checkbox that is optional and if you select it you can sign up to a list and receive emails. We made a filter too so when you sign up you go to a main list where everyone is there so when we send a newsletter we just select that one list.

The problem is that even if someone does not click on the checkbox he is signed on the lists. How can we make it optional and when someone does not check the button he does not have to get registered on a list?

Hi,

If I understand well, you want your user to automatically subscribe in one list and then have a choice to subscribe to another one.

If so, you can do it without a custom field, in the widget you'll have to select your list in the field Automatically subscribe to and then the other list in the field Displayed lists, like that:

If you want to keep up with the custom field, can you tell me which filter and action you've set up?

Hello Remi. Not exactly.

When someones writes his name and email on a list to download a file, he automatically gets subscribed to that list and on a second list which is a generic list where all subscribers are registered no matter which list they signed for.

What I need is to be able to have a checkbox that if he is not willing to click on it he will not get registered in any list and he will just receive his file. The checkbox is something like "I agree to receive newsletters" field.

Oh I got your point. The widget though will not allow me to add it after the form. "Display the lists" drop down does not work so I can select after.

So basically there is the <div class="onelist"> before the <div class="acym_form"> so the checkbox pops before the forms. I can change it but I don't want it to get ruined after an update. Is there another way to do it?

Hi,

Yes, I see your point, I'm afraid you can't do it with AcyMailing because it doesn't allow you to send emails to users who are not confirmed.

Hello, this is why I created that second list. When someone wants to download a file he is getting subscribed just on that list so he can download the file. If he checks on the “agree” button he will also get subscribed to the big list which is the list we send all the newsletters to. If he does not accept he will never receive any emails even if he is subscribed to the “file list”.

Ok I see, you can do it with the automation, you create a checkbox custom field subscribe to newsletter, and then you create an automation:

triggers: When the user subscribe
conditions: your custom fields checkbox checked
actions: subscribe the user to your newsletter list

You can sort your custom fields on the listing so the checkbox will be the first one 🙂
