Regularly send the article of a category to its author

Hi Acypeople,
I have a Joomla category where I create an item for each registered user of my website.
I would like to send twice per year this item to each user so he can check the validity of the information on this page. (hope I'm clear enough 😉 )
I have no idea how to handle this with Acymailing 6 - Any advice ?

Hi,

I'm afraid that's not possible out of the box.

As an alternative you could add a Acymailing custiom field that holds the url of the article of the user. Then you can add a link a link to the article in your mail. When adding the link use {subscriber:YOUR_FIELD} as the link address. When rendering the mail Acymailing will replace the tag with the content of your custom field.

Just need a little precision.

I assume the URL put in the Acymailing custom field will look like : index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=18:my-article&catid=10:my-category - Right ?
The {subscriber:YOUR_FIELD} tag will be inserted in the Email body - Right ?

Hi,

You can use your normal sef website link for that. But you must use the full path like this: https://www.yourdomain.com/articles/my-article.

You can add the tag in the body if you want to show the url, but you also can use any other anchor text. All you need to do is to select it and then assign a link to that text, just like you do with any other texct link. When adding the link you put the tag in the url field.

Hi there,
I have found a solution when the item is created with Seblod.
What we did (with the help of Seblod team) is created a file in
/media/cck_dev/processings/acymailing/
This file is to determine which user is going to recieve the email and selecting the good article to send him : the one of a specific category where he is the author of the article, and then concat the content (fields from the Seblod form) for the Newsletter itself.
I was wondering if there's not a similar solution for Joomla core article.
Of course, I need tips for that as I'm not able to do it alone. But some URL (?) or advice can be enough. I will just come back with questions :-)
Any idea?
