Error when upgrading to either 6 or 7

Hi,
Am currently using the starter 5 version and wanted to upgrade to either 6 or 7.
I use Joomla 3.9.23 with no update issue and yet, when I try to upgrade, I get a "Unknown column 'parent_id' in 'where clause'" error at install. Database is up-to-date, so I don't understand what goes wrong with this install...
I also tried to uninstall version 5 and wipe all tables with no more luck.
Also, turning Errors on before install doesn't help more to see where it can come from, most likely from an sql install file...
Any idea would be welcome...

It seems to be that the V7 update for the plugin may be causing some issues ( i'm using the latest version of WordPress ). I've had a couple of further crashes on my site after saving some changes in Acymailing's configuration tab. After checking Acymailing's forum page I found out that multiple users seem to be having a similar issue as well. My only way of resolving this issue so far is by deleting the plugin via my hosts FTP service and reinstalling it again. I reinstalled the V6 Version of Acymailing which I have backed up on my PC and this worked perfectly. So... the issue has to be the recent plugin update right?

Hello Groovesplit,
I reinstalled an old database and reloaded an old FTP. I am therefore in V6 and I have no more errors.
Unfortunately, the support tells me that it comes from my theme ... but too many of us have the site crashed after installing V7 for the problem to come from our theme.

webjo I fully agree....It can't come from the theme.
I just fully uninstall everything, deleted the v5 tables again and have still the same message....

Hey webjo. thanks for the quick answer. I honestly believe it's the Acymailing V7 update that's having issues with WordPress. Hope they'll fix this soon..

Also, FWIW, the latest "authorized" Acymailing version showing up in Joomla extensions management menu is v5.10.18....

This is why I always test things in localhost before updating the live site. I will probably wait til the next version before updating on my Joomla site until I know the bugs are fixed.

Could you please share with me the issue you have with AcyMailing 7?
Is it the issue mentioned in the first message (SQL issue)?

Also please send us a summary of the issue + a backend + FTP access via our contact form.
We will have a look at it.

Yep, it is the SQL issue from my original message I'm referring to: "Unknown column 'parent_id' in 'where clause".
Summary of the issue is very simple. To make a long story short:

Have been using AcyMailing 5 for a long while on one of my Joomla websites.
Received once a message in the left bar of Acymailing stating that it was no longer supported and that I had to upgrade to 6.
Downloaded Starter v6 and tried to upgrade: got this SQL message so I uninstalled v6 and removed tables and went back to v5.
When v7 came out, tried to jump direct to v7 and received the same error message. Uninstalled and removed tables and went back to v5 again...
When going to the Extensions/Install from Web menu on Joomla backend, the latest "accepted" version of AcyMailing is v5 so, either there is a problem upgrading beyound v5 or you did not update the extensions library informations or....

Should I send you login details just via contact form or PM message anywhere?

Disregard my messages questioning the support: they are very responsive and do everything to help us. I just, like all of us here, panicked when I saw these errors on my site after the update.

In the meantime, for all people having issues with v7, we've spent the whole day on it and finally found the problem!
A new version has been released, please update and everything will be ok 😄
