No that's not by design. You could check if you didn't make a typo in the domain attached to your license on acyba.com. Otherwise you could try to click the "Check my version" in the top right corner of your Acymailing admin panel.
In case you have installed Acymailing on a subdomain, please note that Acyba makes a distinction between domains and subdomains. In that case you have to attach the subdomain to your license.
