Error message when sending

Hello -

I created a new Joomla website and included ACYmailing. I have other websites that currently use ACY so I'm pretty familiar with it. I'm using Elastic Email as a server - again, I've used it before.

Configure ACY to use Elastic API. Send test message - I receive it with no problem. When I use an ACYMailing subscription form, I receive the following error on my website's page:

Error sending message Info, Please confirm your subscription to info@xxxxx.com Unauthorized: Dashboard

I found some topics in the old ACY forum suggesting using the Elastic SMTP. I switched to that - sent a test message and again, it worked just fine. I go into my Elastic account and it shows that it sent a message via the API and one via the SMTP.

When I configured ACYmailing in my website, I had another browser window with my other website up so I could just make sure the parameters were configured the same.

I don't know where to turn. I can't find any type of log file that would give me more information and no other topics in this forum. If you can point me in the right direction, hopefully I can get this fixed.

An other user had the same issue with Elastic Email, it was due to the account review status.
Found it on our ugly old forum 😄

So according to this user, generating a new API key once the account is no longer in review mode should solve the problem

Thank you @Dax. I forgot to mention in my original post that I had changed the API key. However, I did read the post and changed the API key. I get the same message (Error sending message Info, Please confirm your subscription to email@email.com Unauthorized: Dashboard). I have been on both the ACY support site and the Elastic support site. I followed the instructions. When I send test messages, they go through just fine.

It's only when a visitor enters their info in an Acymailing subscription form and hits submit. The system thinks for a second and send this message. It makes me think that it's something within Acy - that it's not even getting to Elastic.

I have more information to report.

I tried subscribing a user that already existed. I got a message "You are already subscribed." That worked as it should.

I used phpMyAdmin to look in the database. Here's what I found:

I add a user using the subscription form. It is supposed to subscribe them to list #5
Looking in phpMyAdmin, the user record DOES exist in acym_user
There are also entries in acym_user_has_field and acym_user_has_list. All entries are correctly timestamped with the correct ID number tying them together
The acym_user record has a 0 in the "confirmed" column
So the message that I am getting (Error sending message Bob Bundy, Please confirm your subscription to bob.bundy@email.com Unauthorized: Dashboard) is the system saying it cannot send the confirmation message.
I have my system configured to send a confirmation message to the subscriber (Require Confirmation (double opt-in))
I go into my confirmation message and send a test message. It sends just fine and I receive it.
I go into CONFIGURATION and turn OFF "Require Confirmation (double opt-in)"
I register again...this time, the system should NOT be sending a confirmation message
I get the same error

At this point, I was almost at wit's end. However, I remembered that I had initially installed AcyMailing 6 first. THEN I found out, after reading, that not all functionality from ACY 5 had been moved over. So I installed ACY 5 - the documentation says they can be on the same system and function together.

I went into the ACY 6 configuration - and found that the flag "Require confirmation" was turned ON in ACY6 - I turned it off and tried to subscribe.

The subscription worked. So I guess ACY 5 & 6 cannot work closely in harmony on the same system. I need to change my question now to "Can anyone tell me how to UNINSTALL ACY6?"

If you want to unistall AcyMailing 6 in Joomla you'll have to go in the Joomla menu Extensions -> Manage -> Manage and then you find dans unistall AcyMailing 6:
