Acymailing 6 : is it possible to send a cron newsletter with latest articles ?

Hi,
The question is in the Title.
In Acymailing 5, one can send with a Cron a weekly newsletter with the latest articles.
But I don't remember the Roadmap of Acymailing 6 with regard to that feature : is it in place already (and if not, when ?)

Hi, that's not possible yet with version 6. You need to wait until they release the Autonmation third phase (scheduled for this month) and the update that will offer tag replacement. I don't know when the last one will be available.

I went to the documentation page about Smart Newsletter (Acymailing5) :

Actually what I need to set up is a double Smart Newsletter :

some users want to receive a Newsletter as soon as new Article is published ("as soon as possible")
other users prefer to have a "digest", namely only one email per week with all new Articles published ("every week")

I guess (I hope) this is possible with Acymailing5 if I create 2 identical Smart Newsletter

one with "as soon as possible" assigned to List 1 of users
- and the other one with "every week" assigned to list 2 of users)
  it will work fine ?

My fear would be that the weekly Smart Newsletter would not trigger since the concerned Articles were already sent via the other immediate Smart Newsletter

You should be able to do that. Acymailing is using the last send date of your newsletter and compares that with the article dates. Any articles that have been published since the last time your newsletter has been sent will be included,

BTW, does it take the Creation date or the Date of Publication ?
I am asking bc this has two impacts

sometimes you create today but publish only later
sometimes you create new articles by duplicating the old one, in which case you should not forget to adapt manually the creation/modification dates...

When you add your articles to your smart newsletter there is a filter that allows you to choose between all articles, only new articles or new articles and/or edited articles.

I'm noit sure if Acymailing is using creation or publication date. I guess it looks at the publication date, You should test that to be sure.
In case you save an article as a copy the date of the last modification is automaticly set to the current date and time. Set your filter to inclde both new and edited articles and you should be fine.

Wooot wooot, good news : Acymailing 6.4 is released and I see
"New automatic campaign option: automatically generate and send a campaign every week for example"

So does that mean that "Tag replacement" is also in place (so that Automatic Campain is fully functional) ?

Hi,

Yes you can. Just add a block to your mailing and drag the Joomla Article content into it. You can then select individual articles or category articles.

As for the category you can select the max number of articles, but the minimum number aof articles is not built in yet. I'm not sure if Acy will always send the max numer of articles you have set, or that it will only send new articles sence the last time you have send out the mailing. I haven't tested that yet.
