Mail to a sub-set of subscribers

With Enterprise, it is possible to send a mailing to a sub-set of Joomla subscribers based on their access level? Or alternatively is it possible to select the list of active subscribers from a membership component (Membership Pro) database, conditional on the status of a field?

I was able to do this with the previous version of AcyMailing.

We have Starter version 6.13.3 which we installed after the Enterprise version expired. If we upgrade to the Enterprise edition now, will the 'mass actions' that we had previously be recoverable?

What you are looking for is called Segments. That feature is part of Enterprise version, and we have explained it here

Mass actions from version 5 are part of Automations in version 7, so if you plan to work with the latest version, you will have to recreate Mass actions. On the other hand, as I said, you are actually looking for Segments in version 7, based on the explanation you provided

I don't think I'm looking for segments, but it's impossible to tell with that link; perhaps if I read the whole manual I'd understand.. To be clear, Joomla has users. Users have access levels - i.e. Author. I want to mail to all Users with access level "Author" . I am asking if AcyMailing can filter Users by access level.

I am very disappointed that all the work I put into making mass actions with V5 was lost and now I have to pay money to do it all over again.

If you want to send email to the subset of your subscribers (Joomla user group that belong to the Authors group), segments is a feature which you are looking for

When you have a valid subscription, you can download both version 5 and version 7 installation packages. If you didn't remove version 5 DB tables in the past, you can install version 5 and continue to use it. The only thing that you will have to do is to export your subscribers, which you got after the version 6 installation, to version 5. On the other hand, if you are already using version 6, you can update it to version 7 and use Segments as I suggested

OK... We've purchased AcyMailing and tried the Segments feature. Now we need a feature to filter on one or more of the fields of one of the databases on our site. For example, we can write a program to create a database of expired members for the last year. We'd like to create a list of those members for follow-up emails. Possible?

You could fetch subscribers from DB table using Universal filter, but you have to be advised that AcyMailing can send email only to the email address which is active and confirmed in AcyMailing

You can't send email to an email address which is not active in AcyMailing

I went to add-ons, found universal filter, and selected download. Nothing happened. What do I do to be able to use this? Since it's a filter, I figured it would be under the filter symbol - i.e. segments - but it it not listed in the filter dropdown. Nor does it show up in my PC's download folder. More explicit instructions are needed.

The notification that was sent to me stated that I wouldn't receive any more notifications until I was up to date. But up to date with what? Software, reading forum posts, flu shots?

Now I am trying to see the subscribers of my newly created lists using Universal Filter.
I go to Subscribers, then Import, then Import Joomla Users.

A list of my lists appear, plus a list of actions. The fourth one says...
"Subscribe all your Joomla! users to the selected lists if they are not already subscribed or unsubscribed from it"
Does this mean....

All of my 3000+ users will be subscribed to my new list, or..
Only the users that meet the criteria of the Universal Filter will be subscribed to my new list.

Import feature under the Subscribers section doesn't take into account Segments and possible rules you created there

If you choose to import Joomla users, all users will be imported (based on the selection of Joomla group which you can choose during the import) and all users will be subscribed to the newsletter list

I will try to ask the question again...
I have created a Universal Filter based on a database table.
Now I want to see the users that are subscribed to that list to see if it handled the filter properly.
How do I do that?

You can filter all users to subscribe to a certain newsletter list under the Newsletter list section

There isn't a 'Newsletter list section' on the list on the left of the screen. There is a 'List' section, however.

I am having trouble figuring out how this program is supposed to work. I made a list, but it has no subscribers. When I click 'manage subscribers', I get a screen that requires me to select from a list of 3000 subscribers. That won't work.

I made two segments, but the don't know how to use that logic to subscribe users to a list.

When I go to Subscribers, I see there are 3000+ of them. That seems right. When I select show filters and then select the segment and list I want populated with subscribers and then select 'apply filter' I get 'no results'.

When I go to Segments and select the one I want populated with Subscribers, it shows me that there area 296 of them.

I want to see the subscribers that are subscribed to the segment that I created.

Create a newsletter
Create a segment
Create a list of subscribers based on the segment (or Universal Filter)
What am I doing wrong?
