BIG Problem with v.7.7.0 (Joomla) - Birthday Emails

Everyone: be careful with the upgrade to v.7.7.0. It sent out all birthday emails. And I am not able to select the birthday field anymore (Joomla).

Same problem today with upgrade 7.7.0, email birthday send to 745 members !!!

I have confirmed this problem on my test site and reported it to our developers.

They are investigating the issue at the moment

I actually immediately reported it via the contact form. But I also wanted to inform others here, so that they are aware before unwanted emails are sent out.

BTW: v. 7.7.1 did not fix it (and there is no chnagelog for 7.7.1)

Do you know, how long it will take to fix it?

Version 7.7.1 didn't fix this particular issue, since the developers confirmed it after the release of that version

The issue should be fixed in the next release in a day or two

I upgraded to v.7.7.2 and I was able to save the date-field in the birthday newsletter. Still need to check tomorrow if the sending process also works as expected. I changed the underlying list for today in order to avoid mass-birthday emails. But for tomorrow I will try with the "real" subscriber-list.
