Emails not sending

I've just inherited a charity website which sends a monthly newsletter to a mailing list of 20,000. I'm a volunteer and new to Joomla. I followed all my predecessor's instructions for sending the newsletter yesterday but it keeps getting stuck and I have to restart it from the queue. I'm using AcyMailing Enterprise 7.7.2. I have no idea why it's not working - can anyone help please?

There is no need to ask the same question using our contact form (thus creating the support ticket) and also here in the forum

This just stretches support and can slow down issue resolving

i actually posted this before I found the contact form and was just about to delete this. I had thought that this forum was for users of AcyMailling, not the support team. I find it odd that this reply from you was not emailed to me - I have only just found it. But I note that the forum and the contact form are one and the same and won't do it again.
