Crazy "Save your work or you loose it" warning design

This is the most bizarre & crazy thing yet:
There I am beavering away on a standard newsletter.
The warning dialog appears to tell me I have a minute to save my work.
I CANNOT CLOSE THE DIALOG TO REACH THE SAVE ICON.

The work is lost.

Seriously, version 7 is driving me crazy.

This dialog box is not coming from AcyMailing because of tho reasons:

AcyMailing is storing current view in the browser storage. Even if you close the browser and come back later to edit this newsletter, AcyMailing will find stored newsletter content and will ask you if you want to load it
AcyMailing wouldn't show a popup warning dialog box for this. It would show a message in the editor banner, where the editor buttons are usually

I don't know. I am Linux/Firefox. I mentioned the issue before.
In the case that got me annoyed to post this I lost a good 40 minutes of editing. The results were not there when I re-opened the email I had been preparing. And this is not the first time this has happened.
BTW. I had no option but F5 the browser window.
Anyway, I find the process frustrating and, in this case annoying at best.

Try to increase your timeout in the Joomla global configuration and I would click save button from time to time in order to avoid getting kicked out of the editing session

It's not so much a time out issue as a design one.

When the dialog pops up it will not close.

I have tried clicking X, ESC clicking on the background, nothing. The dialog stays up preventing the save.
There's nothing to be done other than F5, which loses any unsaved work. Surely if an editor is active the user should not be locked out of it!?
As I said, it's crazy.
The Joomla editor (JCE pro in our case) doesn't behave like that and stays alive so long as editing work is going on.
