Update to 6.2.0 doesn't work

Hello,

I am using AcyMailing Starter in Joomla 3.9.11. The Acymailing Dashboard shows an update link to Version 6.2.0. Unfortunately this link doesn't do the update, but leads only to the download section of the Acymailing website.

I also tried to do the update via the Joomla update feature "Extensions->Manage->Install->Find Updates". But there is no Acymailing update available.

How can I do the update?

Hi,

What's your AcyMailing version? I guess you're using an 5.x version?
If you want to update you can simply download the package from AcyMailing's website then install it on your website 🙂

I am using AcyMailing Starter 6.1.4. Will I have to download the update and then install it over the existing version? Or should there be an easier way via update link or the Joomla update feature "Extensions->Manage->Install->Find Updates"?

Hi,

Strange that you don't have any update available.
Could you please click on the "Clear cache" then "find update" buttons?

If there is still no result then you can simply download it from our website and install it (without uninstalling the previous one) ;-)

Hello,

thank you for your advice. "Clear cache" didn't help. So I downloaded the update from the website and installed it. Now the component is updated to version 6.2.0. By the way, when I opend the updated component for the first time, it showed a kind of error message like this:

'This is not a file: /var/www/.../apps/joomla/administrator/components/com_acym/extensions/mod_acym/index.html'

This message appeared only once. What could it mean?

the error appeared only the first time after update. Unfortunately I copied only the link and not the full message. Nevertheless, I wanted to inform you about it.
Despite the first time error message, the updated component itself seems to work without problems.

Fortunately I was now able to do the update to Version 6.2.2 through the internal update link of Acymailing. Simply great experiance! Only there was again this mysterious error message:

'JInstaller: :Install: File does not exist /var/www/.../apps/.../administrator/components/com_acym/extensions/mod_acym/mod_acym.xml

Module Install: Could not copy setup file.

Install path does not exist.'

Do you know what it could mean?'

Hi,

I definitely think there was something wrong during one of your previous installation.
Maybe a solution could be to uninstall AcyMailing (data in your database won't be deleted) then reinstall it.
Please do a backup before to make sure nothing will be lost 😉
