Automation Explanation

Hello, could anyone give me a very quick explanation as I can't find it anywhere.
On automation (trigger based on user actions) when USER SUBSCRIBES - CONDITIONS - SUBSCRIBE TO A LIST
The subscription date has two DATE INPUT boxes - one at either side.
What are these two DATE INPUT boxes for?
I'm a bit confused - any help would be much appreciated.

Those date fields allow you to define a date range which will be checked for the subscription condition
You can define that automation will happen if user has subscribed after some date (left date field), but before some date (right date field)

Thanks - it was as easy as that! Ive had this component for a long time and never ventured into automation - just data collection. This is me now working through all the ins and outs

Another question - if the automation moves the user from List B to Main List A and added a SEGMENT, can we still do follow up emails sequence for the new SEGMENT only?

Segments are not list dependent. Unless you have set a filter for a list in your segment ofcourse.

Thanks for that - I'm not sure what you mean, I'm still a newbie getting my head around it.
When a user is subscribed, we can not add a segment from the module, right? So I've added them to a new list.
So I'm using automation from new list to the main list with a segment to show the source and have follow up emails for that particular source.
What I am unsure of is this:
Can the follow up email sequence be done from the segment in the main list or do I need to keep the subscriber in the new list to have the follow up email sequence.

Hi,

Users are not added to segments. A segment is just a bunch of filters that will be applied when you delect a segment on an action ypu want to perform.

There's no need to use an extra list or Automation for what you want to accomplish.

If you want to send a series of followup mails to new users on your main list based on the way they subscribed you can set it up like this:

To start with, Acymailing stores the source of the subscriber, wether this is an import, module or form.

First thing you do is to setup a segment for each source you want to send a series of follow up mails to.

The nex thing you do is to is to setup your series of follow up mails. Set the trigger to when the users subscribes and set the conditions to both your list and your segment.

After that you can write your follow up mails and your good to go.

I'd like to ask - If the user is an existing subscriber that uses another sales funnel, we wouldn't be able to do the above, right? Would it then be another list that would preferably be used?

Also - The follow up email image box above - the follow up email can be sent on the CLASSIC CONDITION of the segment only or does it need the SPECIFIC CONDITION of the list?

The reason I'm asking is that I've a fairly large social media following that I'm marketing to and it's mainly only them, so I just want to see who subscribes to what funnels as there maybe a few different funnels - and a fair few of them will be existing subscribers.

You're right, that won't work. For this you would need a list for each funnel.

The Classic and Specific conditions belong to Automations. You can setup an automation to add users to a follow-up campaign.
