Questions about the subscription form

Hi there,

I'm trying to build a subscription form with the latest version of AcyMailing + Joomla 4. I have a few questions about that.

After creating (and saving) a subscription form, it's not possible to find it again in the AM tabs. The AM tab keeps on saying "You don't have any subscription form, create one". OK, I found out we can access the previously created forms in the Joomla modules window. But I think this behavior is quite confusing.

Once published, the fields display the default values. Which is what I want, except that…:
• When you click on a field, the default value is still visible rather than creating a blank field, and you have to select the value to delete it, or you could just add some letters to it. I think this is pretty old school :-/
• As a result, even if the fields are mandatory, the fact that the default values are accepted by the form is a real issue. I think the default values shouldn't be accepted by the form.

When we enter our own custom confirmation message, the default message is still published. Both are. I think a custom message should override the default message.

Please let me know if there are things that I missed (I'm still quite new to AM).

OK, please let me add this:
I finally could handle points 2A and 2B by deleting fields default values.
Now it behaves the way I wanted.
That's a start!

Hi,

I noticed that you added a custom confirmation message to the module, and I was curious as to how you did that. Acymailing uses language strings, and these can be easily changed in Acymailing->Configuration->Languages. All you need to do is to edit the language file, find the string for the confirmation message in the top panel, copy it to the bottom panel, edit the text in the copied string, and save the file.

If you are looking for the correct language string, you can copy the default text displayed after subscribing and use the CTRL-F command to locate it in the language file. You should be able to locate the string "ACYM_CONFIRMATION_SENT" with this method.

I should also note that in Joomla modules are always stored and managed in the Joomla ecosystem. The button in the Acymailing for creating a module redirects you to the Joomla extension manager. Modules are not stored in Acymailing.

In case you're still curious about that: I just used the "confirmation message" field in the Avanced tab of the module. Instead of overriding the default message, both are displayed. I think it's a weird move.

OK, I get that the subscription form is managed in the Joomla modules section. Then, I'm still wondering why a click on the AM "subscription forms" menu item displays the following message: "You don't have any subscription form". I think this is very misguiding. Wouldn't a list of the previously created forms be a smarter option? Or at least a reminder of where they are managed (maybe with a link to the module or the modules section if that's possible).
