error 500

Hello....I tried to email 500 people from Acymailing (via send mails manually) and the php mailing function. It started to send emails in batches of 40...with 120 seconds in between. At 25% the front-end and back-end of the website went into error 500 mode (red screen). I had to restore from a backup.

The 25% of sent emails did arrive...but not the rest.

Latest Joomlaa version and php 8.1

How do I avoid this in the future?

Set Error reporting in Joomla global configuration and report back the real PHP error message that you should see instead of the general Error 500 page.

That error message will help us find what is the real cause of the issue

Error 500 is general server error and lots of things can trigger it
