I haven't see a post about this in 2023, so I was just hoping to confirm a few things:

  1. using cron on my OWN server still requires an active acym license?
  2. for EACH site, I need a DIFFERENT license? So if I want ten clients to have the enterprise version, I will need TEN enterprise licenses?
  3. only the Essential version and up can use cron (either acyb's server or self-hosted)? The Starter version cannot use cron? I see that on the pricing page, but want to confirm.
  4. Can we just change the code to run self-hosted cron jobs without adding the license?

hi,

1) Yes, you need a valid license regardless if you are using your own cron or not.

2) There's also a multi-site Enterprise version (€ 319,-) that you can install on 20 different domains.

3) Correct, the Starter version does not offer tima saving automatic features

4) You need a valid license to be able to use the cron and the features it is triggering.

Thanks so much for answering!

Could follow-up questions if may:

  1. On the multi-site license, is there any way to add beyond 20 domains to that single license, or do we need to purchase a single multi-site license for every 20 sites?

  2. Assuming we have a valid license and are using our own cron, does the code reach our to your servers on every cron invocation to validate the license key to ensure we can use this service?

Hi,

The multi-site license is for 20 domains, so after that you need to purchase a new multi-site license.

You're correct, the license is checked with our server on every cron job as well as on updates.
