Confused about my subscription?

I realize that there is a multi-site subscription, but is there no way to assign the subscription to my domain and any subdomains would work? It seems a little ridiculous to me that I cannot have a dev site that will work properly unless I change the subscribed site to the dev site and temporarily break the production site while I test stuff. Am I missing something?

You can assign your multisite license to as many websites as you wish 😉
