Question about templates

I want to create a new template based on my old newsletter (now called email). I cannot find how to do this in the latest acymailing version 8.5.
Where is this option??

Hi I read the documentation 2x. There is no option for using an email already sent as a template, or I can't find it. In the old version I could save the newsletter as a template. That is gone. Or where is it?

This button in the editor will save your current mail as a template.

You need to scroll down and click the edit email button to open the drag & drop editor. There you will see the button to save your email as a template.

Note: The current Acymailing version is 8.6.1. Please keep your Acymailing updated. It will prevent you from running into issues that already have been solved.

The second blue "edit email" button before the newsletter is not there. It must be somewhere else

I noticed that you have been using the HTML editor instead of the new drag & drop editor.

When creating a new template in Acymailing, you are given the option to choose between the HTML editor and the drag & drop editor. We strongly recommend using the drag & drop editor as it is the future of Acymailing.

Please note that the HTML editor is still available for use due to migrations from version 5 to version 8. However, we advise rebuilding your templates using the new and user-friendly drag & drop editor.

If you prefer to continue using the HTML editor, please be aware that you can still create new templates with it. However, when it comes to creating emails, you can only use the HTML editor if you select an HTML template. If you create a new email without using a template, you will only be able to use the drag & drop editor. Please note that you might be missing out on features, such as the "save email as template" that are available in the drag & drop editor.

Hi Thank you for your response. I have no problem using only the drag&drop editor. But I think I understand now why we aren't understanding each other. I am not in the "create template" window, but in "emails" and i opened the last email I sent, I duplicated and used this duplicate to prepare for sending a new one. Now I want to save this one also as a template. That used to work in the previous version.
Where is that option now.

Considering your last screenshot showed the html editor (website editor) you have duplicated an html email and edited that in the website editor. As explained, the save as template feature is not available in the website editor.

Please, start a new email and start a new blank template. You'll see the drag & drop editor and the button to save the email as a template.

Hi, ok, so the function was removed. Why actually, it was quite useful. I do not want to start from scratch with a new template.

It's because the new Acymailing is rebuild from the ground up and we've switched to the drag & drop editor and this editor actually has this feature. The website editor is just a coutesy to enable users to make modifiations to their migrated templates from v5.

As said, with an html email you can't. You have to recreeate your templates once in the drag & drop editor. After that you can save your emails as a new template.

Hi, ok it is for certain. I can't reuse my existing emails.
Eliminating this option ist a step backwards. I don't really understand the logic. I have several emails I have for different purposes and I would have to create all of them again from scratch.
Feedback for development team. You should also think of the users not only of what is easier to program.
In any case, thank you very much for the clarificaiton and your help.

You can still use and edit your existing html emails. It is still possible to duplicate, edit and send them. You only can't save email as a new template in the html editor.
