Migration not completed...

Hi,
I have a V5 in J3.
Install a J4 test instance.
I have install the V5, remove the table from the database, reimport the table from the J3.
All is ok : the V5 import on J4 is working correctly.

To test the migration to the V8.7.1, I have install also this.
Then, the script ask if I want to import the V5 data : I have selected all the data and click on import.
No errors, all is fine, but I have no more stats imported in the V8 and the queue is empty.

The goal is to have the exact same state after the migration to avoid any lose of data.

How to solve this ?

NOTE : for the test, i have not activated the V5 or the V8 during the test.

Hi,

When you migrate your data only the global statistics (nr. of recipients and open rate) are transfered, the detailed statistics are not. Version 8 has been rbuild from scratch. There are so many differences in the way we store the statistics that is impossible to migrate the detailed statistics.

You can have installed both v5 and v8 on your site, so you always can lookup your old detailed statistics in v5. Though you can have both versions installed on your site, you can link your license (and thus automatic sending) only to either one at a time.

Please make sure your queue is empty before you start your migration.

Uh....
What is your advice to make the better move ?

In fact, I can manage the statistics but for the queue, this is a big issue on my side : I have a queue with many campaigns started and sending from now to novembre/december... I can not get rid of these emails to sent as there are included in the big process to send emails to people who asked for weekly or monthly.

I cannot import the sending queue in the database ? Any possible way to achieve this ?

If you recreate your smart newsletters as Automatic Campaigns Acymailing will add your emails to the queue again.

Let me jump in with the suggestion how you could resolve your problem with existing campaign which can't be migrated to AcyMailing 8

Both version 5 and version 8 can coexist on the same site.

Configure AcyMailing 8 as your main newsletter extension, by replacing all the subscriptions forms from version 5 to version 8

Configure also version 8 cron job to use our cron job service

At the same time, configure your own cron job on your own server to trigger a cron job URL of AcyMailing 5 installation

This will allow you to process to send all your queued campaigns from AcyMailing 5 and at the same time use new version for new newsletter handling

There is one thing that you will need to manually update, and this is possible unsubscriptions from the campaigns sent with AcyMailing 5. You will need to manually unsubscribe the same users from AcyMailing 8, since there will be no sync between AcyMailing 5 and AcyMailing 8 subscribers
