Help with setting up Gmail SMTP

Hi,

I use Google Gsuite (Google apps for work) and I'm looking for help in setting up Gmail as my external server for send the mail.

I've set the following settings:


Method : SMTP
Server : smtp.gmail.com
Port : 465
Secure method : SSL
Authentication : Yes

But I get a message saying:

SMTP Connect() Failed.

I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully set up Gmail as their external server and if I have missed something in the set up?

Hi,

If you have a SMTP error this could be due to your PORT which may be blocked or due to your information (Username/Password) 🙂
