Error installing AcyMailing 9.x

I am trying to install AcyMailing 9.x onto a Joomla 3.10.12 site and seeing this message:

Warning
Unknown column 'backend_edition' in 'field list'

Firstly is version 9.x compatible with J3? I have AcyMailing 5.12.0 on the site already.
Can I migrate to J4 with AcyMailing 5.12.0 on the site and then upgrade to V9 after the migration?
What version of PHP MySQL is recommended?

Hi,

The error is probably caused by having installed v6 or v7 in the past. In your database you'll find two sets of Acymailing tables. The ones starting with_acymailing belong to v5 and the ones starting with _acym belong to the new version.

Please try to delete all tables starting with _acym and then install the current version again.

We recommend to migrate to version 9 first. Once you have this working you can migrate towrads Joomla 4.

When uninstalling AcyMailing 5.x I noticed quite a few plugins/modules are still there. I can tell some are the Version 9.x install but not sure if it's safe to remove anything that looks like could be from V5?

For instance, I can tell by the dates (2009, 2010, 2014, 2021) some are most likely V5. Version numbers vary (eg. 1.01, 4.81, etc) and I think are ok to remove.

Any suggestions on which ones I can safely remove (Such as all the ones that don't show Version 9.02)

Hi,

If you want to remove v5 you can uninstall everything with a version number then 9.0.2.

Note: If you are using php 8.0 or higher we recommend to lower your php version to 7.4 in your hosting panel before uninstalling v5. Once the uninstall is completed you can switch the php version back to whatever you were using.
