Landing in primary inbox vs "updates"

Our newsletter sender has used AcyMailing 5 for years and despite the ease of AcyMailing 9, his experience is that AcyMailing 5 is more likely to send emails into user's primary inbox on Gmail. AcyMailing 9 seems to act more like MailChimp and other recognized newsletter services where Gmail seems to know from the header to place these newsletters in the "update" folder.

Has anyone figured out a way to get around this?

Hi,

There's no difference between v5 and v9 in how it is sending and delivering emails. What changed is that Gmail and other major email service providers have tightend their filtering rules. Please make sure you have SPF, DKIM and DMARC dns records in place. Also make sure you have set a DMARC quarantaine or reject policy. You should also make sure you follow the guidelines to reduce spam, bounces and complaints. You'll find Gmail's guidlines here: https://support.google.com/a/answer/14229414?hl=en . These guidelines are pretty much the same for other esp's.

It is interesting that you say that there is no difference in how the email is sent and delivered.
Our experience and the reason we hesitated to use v9 is that the newsletters always ended up not in the primary inbox but in the same place where all of the MailChimp and Constant Contact newsletters go automatically.

Our experience with v5 is (even this year with the recent changes you site) that these newsletters get delivered into the primary inbox.

If you are saying that there is a way to get the v9 newsletters to go to the primary inbox, then this is helpful but I need to know what to do in order to make that happen.
