I tried something similar and ran into some weird and horrible behavior.
I have ACY verion 5.10.4 on my live site. I copied my live site to my staging site and installed the latest version of ACY 6. The migration process on the staging site threw a bunch of errors saying that table could not be found, probably because the change in URL between live and staging.
Worse, the installation process also installed the latest version of ACY 6 on my live site! I didn't even think to check this until a cron job related to ACY crashed my site and my host company's support people found the error.
So, here are my questions:
--How could installing ACY 6.x on my staging site also install the software on my live site?
--How can I test the migration from version 5 to version 6 before committing to it on my live site?
--Can the migration tool be made to recognize URLs mapped from live to staging?
FYI this is one WordPress 5.5, ACYMailing 5.10.4, and the latest version of PHP.
