Temporarily avoid emailing users with invalid email addresses

On my website I show a reminder to a user when they log in if their email address is invalid. I have previously flagged users when emails have bounced in order to identify them, but they remain subscribed to the list. How can I avoid sending newsletters to such flagged users, but ensure that they automatically receive mails again when they update their email address?

Hi,

It sounds like you do everything manually. With the Enterprise version you can use the bounce handling to automaticly deactivate users with an invalid mail adrres.

When you switch to Acymailing version 6 you can even go further. You can set it up to deactivate the user, subscribe the user to a special list and then setup a automatic routine that activates the users who are on your special list when they modify their subscription.

Thanks. Yes I do this manually at the moment. I'll definitely look into Enterprise and upgrading to v6. When you say 'modify their subscription, does this include simply updating their email address (via Community Builder in my case)? Is there a link that explains how to set this up?

Feel free to take a look at v6. You can run both versions safely side-by-side on your dite, as they each have their own set of database tables. That way you can continue to work with v5 and have a look at v6.
