sent = 0 fail = 1 - no email sent

We are using a custom cron job to insert emails into AcyMailing in relation to a custom component.
The emails are being added to the user but the entry for the email in #__acymailing_userstats shows:
sent = 0
fail = 1
I"m not seeing anything in the AcyMailing report for these actions at all (no entry)
This is happening for users who have otherwise OK user accounts (confirmed, accepting email, etc).

We're using the following code:

$mailer = acymailing_get('helper.mailer');
....
$mailer->sendOne($actionRule->email_id, $userToProcess->email)

The emails are getting added to AcyMailing, but not being sent. And no error log entry.
Is there any way to tell WHY the emails are not being sent; why they are getting marked 'fail'?

We are using AcyMailing 5.10.12 on Joomla 3.9.15.

NOTE: The newsletters that are being sent ARE published.
All other sending within AcyMailing appears to be working fine.

Also, the sending was working properly at first for several days and then everything appears to be marked sent=0;fail=1
So the code was all originally working.
The problem appears to have started around 2019-08-25.
I'm wondering if maybe there was a change in the $mailer->sendOne process at sometime last year that might be causing this.

I haven't seen any reply to this issue in 6 days now.
Doesn't anyone have any experience working with the AcyMailing5 API?
(Or has everyone migrated over to AcyMailing 6?)

Starting to wonder if Acyba is answering support issues.
This is now a critical issue for us and haven't received any responses anywhere.

Yes Acyba is still answering support issues. @Alexandre and his team have loads of work to, so sometimes it can take some time before they ar able to respond. I'm helping them as much as I can on the forum and unfortunately I don't have an answer to your issue.

After enabling the error report log I'm now seeing this error in the logs:

So Acymailing IS reporting an error; however, it is happening over 2 hours after the cron has run to add the email to the user and I'm not at all familiar with these error notices to know why this would be causing a problem, while sending the exact same email manually from within AcyMailing works without a problem?

Also/FYI ... all emails are being sent out via Office365 for which I don't have administrative access, so I can't see any other types of server logs to see exactly what is happening on the server end when this is happening :-(

Hi,

That's helpful info. This is an error from Office 365, not from Acymailing. Likely caused by one of the following reasons:

Office 365 does not allow you to use a return email address that is not in your list of verified email aliases or connected accounts.
Your from address does not match the domain you are sending from
Your reply-to address does not match the domain you are sending from
The server you are using to connect to Office 365 is not listed in your SPF record.

When sending out an email using this direct process, what param (i.e. addParam) is used to identify the sending email account (i.e. how is the return or reply-to address set)?

Also, shouldn't acymailing use the defaults that are defined in the configuration area when sending all emails?
All our other emails (manual send, campaign send, etc.) are going out (with same email, same recipient) without a problem.

BTW ... the configuration email addresses for FROM and REPLY-TO are different; however, they ARE on the same domain.

Hi,

I did some further investifation. In combination with Office 365 this could also be caused by exceeding throttling limits for the SMTP Authentication protocol. For your reference, see Improvements to the SMTP Authenticated Submission client protocol.

30 messages per minute
30 messages per batch
Recipient rate limit of 10,000 recipients per day

If you want to be sure you could send a request to the Office 365 administrator to perform a message trace and inform you about the exact cause. I would recommend to refer to a mail that caused the issue in the past seven days.

Is there a way to manually set the from/reply-to when using the 'sendOne' function via code? Or does it always use the from/reply-to set in the AcyMailing configurations area?

To be honest, I never used the api, so I don't know. However, it seems logical to that Acymailing uses the default settings in case you don't specify something else.
