• Copy and Paste

The text editor in this new version is absurd. I am not even sure where to start. What should take a few moments to create is an endless nightmare.

Why does this thing pick up styles from the source style sheet? Is this by design? I copy content from the Joomla website to paste in the text block and it's adding all the styles of the website in the HTML as inline styles. I can't even paste a list in there because the template on my site has some styles in it that break the newsletter layout. Why can't I use JCE for my editor your component so at least I can tell it to strip out any styles but p, h1, etc. and not be some insane mess to clean up? I copy from Word it's all tables, etc. etc. Do you think people are typing in these things from scratch? Where is the ordered and unordered lists? I see them in your forum editor but nowhere to be found in a text editor in the newsetter creator?

I am so frustrated by this new version. It should not be this complex to create a simple newsletter.

What is the solution?

Hi,

Please do not forget that Acyba enabled us to use v6 during development. This means there will be inconvieniences and it also means not all v5 features are already available in v6. The devs have recode do ten years of v5 coding history, so that's a lot of work.
Acyba also could have let us wait until it was completely finished, meaning there would be no v6 available yet.

In case this is inconvenient for you the only advice I can give is to keep working with v5 until you're satisfied about v6. V5 is still being maintaned and both versions can co-exist on the same site as they each use their own set of database tables.

How about you add this as a bug then. It surely should not be including styles in the code or Microsoft Word code when pasting. No one is going to type up a newsletter in your tiny little editor. We should not have to know coding to use this editor you are providing. This should be the top priority making the user interface work now that the sending is woking.

I can't, I don't work at Acyba.
