  • Wordpress, WPML, language does not respect selected or user language

hello
problem:
as the title says the AcyMail does not respect the user settings and is visible only in the site default language.
The default language is set in WPML.

Expectation:
the AcyMail UI language should change by the actual selected language. The language should respect the selected language, or the language user has set as his/her default.

or is there something I'm missing?

WP, AcyMail Version 6.15.1

Hi,

Next week version 6.16.0 will be released and it does contain a change regarding languages in WordPress. I'm not sure if this will solve your issue. I suggest you wait for the update to check if it resolves your issue. In case it does not resolve your issue you can raise a support ticket https://www.acymailing.com/support/.

Now, December 12, I find the same issue: I was expecting German backend, but only get English one. Can someone help? Thanks.

I walk into the same issue for multiple sites.
I've created a translation from the .pot file. But these files in wp-content/plugins/acymailing/language are not used. I tried the overrule settings of Wordpres by putting these files in /wp-content/languages as acymailing-nl_NL.po and .mo. But that does not work too.
Where are the translations? Why is there a .pot file if the folder and files inside are not used? Why is nothing said about the user interface and widget translations (add-ons) in the manuals?

And this instruction seems outated: https://docs.acymailing.com/setup/available-language/translate-acymailing

OK. I've send my translation to https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/acymailing/stable/nl/default/ as a .po file. I've still to verify multiple translations as there are >2000 lines to check. But the most essential ones that appear in the widgets on the live site should be fine for now.

And putting the .po and .mo files in /wp-content/languages/plugins does work !! These files should stay even when updates are done. So my sites can go live without waiting approval.

We have AcyMail 6.19.3 and nothing has changed so far, the AcyMail administration stays in the default language no matter what.

Please raise a support ticket as suggested just above your post.

        Hendrik

I've translated all 2051 lines in Dutch (Nederlands) for our clients. I've informed ACY about this through an email.

Guys, here is an explanation why you don't see your WP instance in the selected language

WordPress sends the translations to the WP websites when they are at least 95% translated. AcyMailing is, for example, translated in "German (Formal)", but has only 11% for the "German" language, this is why it isn't translated on any site using German language website.

There are 2560 translated lines for the German language that are waiting for official WP translation managers to be approved. The way WordPress handles the translation ensures good quality translation but it takes ages to be applied :/

For the French language for example we managed to make it work after 5 months even though we are French people 😅

As you can see, this language translation and approval process is all out of our scope, and we all depend on the official translation team to approve something

I agree on this. The new translations in WP are slow and incomplete for multiple plugins. With Cyberchimps i got against the fact that they didn't know their translations were there! So they never saw my contributions.

For ACYmailing I have made a 100% Dutch translation for out clients. The current .pot file say it is about 2.050 lines of text. When you put this in the /languages/plugins folder, they overrule all other. That works. You need to put the plugin name before the language codes in the .po and .mo files. The add-ons do not seem to have translatable content.

Hendrik Hi Hendrik, can you please send me the Dutch translated files, seems a bit stupid to translate them again, if you already did the job, alvast bedankt!
