Formatting for Dark Mode?

Hi Everyone,

I am new here, so please disregard my elementary-level language on the problems I am having. I am having an issue in setting up an initial template for a newsletter that will work for both light and dark mode on email clients. This is especially important on Gmail, because Gmail likes to incorporate a 'full invert' on color when dark mode is applied. Does anyone know a way around this? We are using a tan (#DCCCA4) and Navy (#091071) in our template, and these are turning into hideous pinks/browns when it is inverted in dark mode. Any help or personal experience would be greatly appreciated!
