Hi, I have used Acymailing for years on a lot of my customers websites. For a while now (not really sure exactly when it happened) emails to any yahoo-addresses will not be sent (all other emails will send). The error only says: "Could not instantiate mail function". I have had the Acyba team checking on one of my customers site and some of the emails where sent at that time but not all. And now the next customer has the same problem. Has anyone had the same issue and has a solution? I have tried different kinds of settings. Sending with PHP mail function, 8 bit and UTF-8.
I have added both DKIM and DMARC settings. I have the correct settings for the server in the queue process.
Using Acymailing 7.5.0 on Joomla 3.9.26 and PHP 7.4.16.
Thanks for any help!
/Johanna

Hi,
You've setup dkim and dmarc, but did you also setup spf?
All possible reasons causing "Could not instantiate mail function" are listed here: https://docs.acymailing.com/faq/could-not-instantiate-mail-function

Hi,
If that's the only content in your spf record it is incomplete. In that case ask your hoster what the default spf should be and add the includes you need.
jvstratum Hi!
I checked the docs at the web hotel on how to write the content and this was exactly what they wrote it should be (one.com). So I have tried to make small differences, waited for 90 minutes (for it to go through) to check again.. and so on.. Well, nothing happens. So I guess this is not the issue here.
Is there someone that has another solution?

Gi,
If you have a valid Essential or Ensterprise subacription, please raise a support ticket for this: https://www.acymailing.com/support/. Make sure you include login credentials for your backend so we can have a look at it.

Hi,
your email server is refusing to send out emails to the Yahoo email addresses.
There is not much we, from our side, can do about this, I am afraid. You should contact your email service provider and ask them to check why is this happening or change the sending service.
I wish I can help you further but this really falls out of our hands

If you still have the issue, or someone else have the same issue.
if you are using Joomla, go to Global Configuration/server go to "mail" and change to PHP MAIL.
This will "fix" the issue. Works for hotmail.com, Yahoo.com, Live.com, msn.com.
I tested myself.
Have a great 2023
