Avoid Welcome Email when signing up to site.

Dear friends,
Sorry for my newbie questions. It's the first time I use ACYMailing for serious in Joomla, and I don't know how to perform this.
What I want is this:

New users that create an account on my site should be subscribed to the default newsletter, BUT NOT receive the welcome email.
Only users that subscribe the newsletter on a dedicated Subscription form should receive the welcome email.

How can I achieve this?

Hi,

I guess your question is about the confirmation email. You can avoid sending this to users that are added when they create a site account by disabling this parameter in Acymailing->Configuration->Subscription.

thanks for the reply but it is not solved. All new site users receive the newsletter Welcome email despite that parameter is disabled.

This can't be done

Welcome email is defined per newsletter list and not per subscription channel

If you want to achieve what you are looking for, you would need to subscribe users in a different newsletter lists, based on the subscription channel (user account registration or regular subscription form)

Thanks for your answer, but I really don't understand what you mean with different "channels".

If my parameter Send a confirmation email in addition to the site account creation email is DISABLED, then why new users keep receiving the newsletter welcome email?
It doesn't make any sense at all.

You are mixing Welcome email and email confirmation email

Email confirmation email is the one sent to confirm user email after the subscription

Welcome email is the one that is configured under the newsletter list configuration and is always sent to the new subscribers of that particular newsletter list

Thanks for your explanation, but honestly the whole interface is not very intuitive.
In some ways I think the interface should be improved, and is badly phrased, because what you call the "Welcome Email" is being used as the confirmation email.

I just disabled the Require confirmation parameter.
And now it works fine!
All new site users that create an account are automatically subscribed to the newsletter, receive the usual site creation confirmation, and DO NOT receive the Newsletter Welcome Email.

So that means what I want is possible after all.
At least that's my opinion.
My problem now is other - they cannot unsubscribe properly.
But I will leave that to the other forum post... :-)
